Simon Brimacombe

Simon qualified in 1995 and has been with Mustoe Shorter since 2006.

He specialises in Criminal Law and Child Care Law.

He appears frequently in local (and sometimes not-so-local) Magistrates’ Courts, acting as advocate for defendants in cases at all levels of complexity. He is qualified as a Duty Solicitor in both the Magistrates’ Court and Police Stations Schemes.

He has a particular interest in Road Traffic cases, working to defend peoples’ driving licences (and therefore often their livelihoods). He has recently conducted a number of successful appeals in speed camera cases.

He is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel, undertaking Public Law child cases on behalf of Children’s Guardians, parents and in appropriate cases acting directly for children. He also undertakes Private Law children cases such as residence and contact disputes.

In his spare time he enjoys sailing, walking his dog Bertie (also occasionally an attentive passenger in Simon’s open-top car) and watching the odd game of rugby.
